A Rescue Just in Sight
"For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgement;and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter;and if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds) , then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgement. "
~2 Peter 2:4-9
So now you know I was reading in 2 Peter today. :-) But isn't that an encouraging verse? If God can save His own and punish the evildoer, then can He not deliver you from temptation? Do you doubt Him? I don't know what temptations have come or WILL come for you today, but take encouragement in knowing that He can deliver you if you ask. Now, granted, He might say "No" so that you can learn something during the trial. And even in that I think there is a great amount of peace that comes in trusting Him for the outcome. Read verse 9 (the purple) again. To sum it all up---He's got it all under control. :-) Your rescue's just in sight. Hold on--He's coming!
